About Our Resin Driveways Ringwood
If you have recently come across resin as a surfacing material, you might not be too sure what type of surface it is or why it’s a great choice for driveways. Well, resin surfacing is available in two types – resin bound, and resin bonded.
Resin bound surfacing consists of resin and aggregates (coloured stone chips) being mixed in a forced action mixer, with the combined material being applied to the surface. This is raked and trowelled smooth before being left to cure, creating a smooth and permeable surface.
Resin bonded surfacing consists of the same resin and aggregates, but these aren’t mixed pre-installation. Instead, the resin is applied to the surface and the aggregates scattered on top, sinking into the rein. This is left to cure and loose stones are swept away, leaving a rougher and non-permeable surface.
Now we know the two types of resin, lets discuss the benefits of our resin driveways, Ringwood clients. Resin boasts many advantages, including:
Strong and Durable
Low Maintenance
Permeable (Resin Bound)
Bespoke Designs
And More
One of the biggest benefits to resin, and why it is a great option for driveways, is that is creates a strong and durable surface. With resin, your driveway will hold up under the weight of multiple vehicles without suffering any damage, and the surface will last for years to come.
Another benefit to resin driveways, Ringwood clients, is the low maintenance nature of resin. Your resin surface will require minimal maintenance on your part – a simple wash now and then will keep it clean and tidy. Plus, the colour won’t fade or need constant upkeep, as we use a UV-stable resin, protecting the colour.
If you opt for a resin bound driveway, your surface will also be permeable, which is great for drainage and the environment. A permeable surface allows water to drain through, so your driveway will not only be puddle-free but also help to replenish groundwater, which is good for nearby plant life.
Finally, resin driveways are a highly versatile option as there are many bespoke designs available. The colour comes from the aggregates, of which there are many colour options to choose from. You can choose multiple colours too, creating a unique colour blend. Plus, designs can be created from the resin for a truly bespoke look.
